Bristol Beacon Family Gigs

Hiya Panpals!

How are you doing? This a lil update to let you know about some upcoming gigs I’m part of…

Bristol Beacon is putting on some special gigs aimed at families and I’m in the house band! We’ve been preparing a super fun setlist of pop favourites and musical games, ready for a playful interactive gig experience for the whole family!

The first gig is on Saturday 25th October. You can find more info and get tickets here:

The gigs are raising funds for their Community Music Programme, which I also work with and which is TOTALLY RAD.

Other News!

Over the summer I’ve been chipping away at a new album of ridiculous songs for kids (and silly grownups) and it’s nearly finished!

I could use your help though… I did a few gigs over the summer performing the songs under a new name - Mushy P! I wanted a separate name to do music that’s totally aimed at kids so if left to their own devices they don’t come across any of my weirder or more adult skewed songs. But I know that many of you have kids who enjoy my music under the name Simon Panrucker so I’m not sure if it’s entirely necessary? I get my head in tangles about it so I thought it might help to just ask you all…

Should I release this album of songs for kids as:

a) Simon Panrucker

b) Mushy P

Hit reply and let me know what you think, I would appreciate it billions!

Good Stuff!

Here are some things I’ve enjoyed lately that you might enjoy too…

  • ๐ŸŽต Felbm - cycli infini โ€“ I’ve been listening to this album a lot while doing things. It’s meditative, but rhythmic and with momentum, repetitive but varied. Lovely stuff!
  • ๐Ÿ“ผ Passepartout Duo - From Narva โ€“ It’s satisfying to watch these two musicians locked in with each other and the interlocking rhythms they’re playing in this mesmerising piece.
  • ๐Ÿ“ผ Mushroom in the Wild Playing Keyboard โ€“ A mushroom hooked up with robot arms that are triggered to play a keyboard when the mushroom’s bio-electrical signal fluctuates. So cute! (Thanks for sharing, James!)
  • ๐Ÿ“ผ “How to Orchid” by Telepathic Instruments โ€“ The funniest music tech product demo I’ve ever seen, featuring Matt Berry and Jermain Clement
  • ๐Ÿ’ป offline.kids โ€“ This is a great collection of screen-free activity ideas for kids, filterable by age, time and mess. Lots of obvious stuff but some nice ideas and reminders in there. Save the kids from the attention vortex ๐ŸŒ€๐Ÿ“ฑ๐ŸŒ€ for as long as possible!
