Tinsel Gremlins!
Hiya Panpals!
I hope you’re keeping well in the season of snot. I’ve got a couple of festive videos to share with you this month and some exciting news!
VIDEOS!
MARY CRUDMUSH EVERYBODY! It’s Keytar Jingle Bells Time!
A wonky synthesiser version of jingle bells 🤘
By the way have you ever heard the original One Horse Open Sleigh? I was surprised at how different the original chorus was!
TRACK SMASH: Tinsel Gremlins
I made a mischevious Christmas beat called Tinsel Gremlins in just 60 minutes!
WILL IT AMBIENT? Honky Horn Edition
I tried to make beautiful music from the ridiculous sound of a honky horn to find out… WILL IT AMBIENT?
NEWS!
I’m excited to share that an animated film I scored, LIVING WITH A VISIONARY by Stephen P Neary, will premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival as part of their shorts program!
I had a lovely, if emotional time working on this film - making tender and gently psychedelic music for a beautiful, heartbreaking story. I cried basically every time I worked on it! Stephen did an incredible job bringing this true story vividly to life with such care, heart and artistry, and I can’t wait for people to see it.
FESTIVE FAMILY GIGS!
The morning show of the Festive Family Gig on 20th December at Bristol Beacon is sold out! But there are still a few tickets left for the midday show!
Here’s a cute trailer from the last gig. I don’t know why they used that music, we’re doing awesome covers of pop songs and improvised electronic bangers with freestyle rapping from the kids!

GOOD STUFF!
Here are some things I’ve enjoyed recently that you might enjoy too:
-
🎵 The Second Hand Orchestra - SLOW, this is Christmas!
An album of verrryy slow, shonky versions of Christmas classics and Swedish festive songs. Perfect to relax to as you cruise through the sky in your DIY sleigh. -
📼 Olivia Rodrigo & Jacob Collier - I’ll Be Home For Christmas
Jacob Collier accompanies Olivia’s sweet melody with his trademark insane clustered harmonies - a cosy musical adventure in less than a minute! -
📼 Tape Bowing Ensemble - Open Reel Ensemble
I don’t really know what’s going on here, but it looks cool and it sounds cool so I’m all for it. Somehow they’re using reel to reel tape recorders and playing them as instruments using bamboo canes with tape tied to one end! -
📼 Stephane Dehesell’s 2016 Dance Routine
This is a mind (and body) bending dance routine from a dancer whose body defies logic and nature 🤯 -
🎵 James Pond II - Game Soundtrack
This is the soundtrack to a computer game I used to play when I was a kid where you play as a cyborg fish whose body extends impossibly upwards to grab goodies on the levels. The tune at 1:00 is playing in my head most of the time, if you’d like a sneak peek at what it’s like to go through the world from my perspective. The game was set at Christmas so there are some fun versions of Christmas songs in there too :) -
🎮 Level Devil by Unept
If you’ve got some downtime over Christmas you could get yourself addicted to this fiendish game where the level keeps changing to try and mess you up! It’s really playful and inventive, and increasingly challenging.
